Original Illustrations On Sale and some Lessons I have learned with this challenge

When this challenge was finished, Susana Torralbo (the creator of the texts of my challenge) asked me if I will publish a summary post to see all of them together. The Christmas is not too far away. Whether you are starting to think about what to give to that special someone or if you want to give that well-deserved tribute. Buy an original is a good idea.

OK, but…

I want to know more:

  • All the illustrations are A5 horizontal, (148×210 mm).
  • All illustrations are made with ink (Black Quink Parker and Mont Blanc Gold).
  • Made in «designer paper» of 220gsm.
  • The shipments can fly from the UK to the whole world.

What? Do you fancy one? Yes, I want!

I also want to close this Inktober 2017, making a reflexion about how it has gone (if you want to tell me in the comments your conclusions, you know, everything enriches us).

The first and quite obvious is everything I’ve learned, both the tool and technicians, but especially on a personal level, starting for I had to accept that my Inktober consists of 18 drawings and not 31 and NOTHING HAPPENS.

I feel in the process of accepting that any day is different than other and therefore some days are flowing days and others you feel stuck. It’s natural.

From now on I want to look more at the whole picture than the parts, and also that I need to explore freely. These last two observations lead me to the need to stop to define and specify the course, stop traveling adrift… what does this mean, I still do not know, but I’m dying, so as in the challenge I’ll see with the daily and constant work. Because it is important to give space to those needs that we have during the trip.

And I want to end by sharing with you the reflection of Jake Parker at the end of the challenge: Congratulations! Whether you have joined the challenge with 1 or 31 illustrations and above all do not lose the habit and all the skills you have developed… And now what? Are we going one step further?

There have been wonderful Inktobers, many of them with originals for sale. They are a provocation. Purchase one of them you are supporting those artists who have made enjoy this month and, in addition, you have a unique, special and original piece.

Did you like any of the ones I’ve shared? Yes, I want one on my wall!

A hug and be happy ; )

This year the text is written by Susana Torralbo. Thank you for enjoying this trip with us.
«Lola liked to sing boleros when she cleaned the office floor. I know it because I used to be there and I have thought that those songs told very distant stories, of old loves and past disappointments. By then I always came to the office in time. It was my first job and I was terrified and overexcited in equal parts. I wanted to show that I was mature, professional and hardworking. That’s why I wore white shirts and took the bus half an hour earlier. On the way, I planned to buy a car and even fantasized about my first couple vacations. Then, I worked 8 hours without breathing. At that age, it is not for warmth or energy savings.
Months later, when summer arrived, I paid my first vacation and went with my sister on a road trip toward Spain. By then the boleros had already started talking about me.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.

«My grandmother was like a cupcake, soft and round (and flattened by poles like Earth). When we met, she was older, so much so that it was years before I realized that there was a time when she had also loved and lived with the intensity, fury and emotional pyrotechnics that only young people. I had just finished a cinema TV Show. He turned to me very seriously and began to speak without pause, transformed into a bottle without a stopper that allows spilling everything that contains, to the last drop. So I knew about her secret list of boyfriends, her attempts to be a singer and even her first skirt above her knees. When she stopped talking, I stared at her like the one who looks out at a balcony on a Sunday at the fair, and in the distance, you think you had seen the glow of a last little explosion.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.

Inktober 2017_16/31

Ohhh! Today I overcome the half of the challenge, I go with much more delay than I would like, but overcoming the equator encourages me a lot. Let’s go to continue!

Oohhh! ¡Vamos a seguir!

«What plan? Bikini diet? No, no, no. A moving and goodbye, helmets, orange skin and even epidermis. That between the rubbing you rub and the use and abuse of chemicals I am on the verge of disintegrating. I’ll let you know that once we’ve reached the bottom of the marshy toilet, we’re dealing with the interiors of cabinets (clothes, not kitchen) which smell like fish. The old tenants, from now Mr. and Mrs. Shit, were very much in the process of storing food everywhere. I guess for fear of a shortage of all supermarkets in the area. Very common all. Anyway, I’m looking forward to going to the gazpacho or potatoes with Alioli sauce phase, to see if we are recovering a little bit of fat, that later comes the winter and I do not earn for coats.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.

«¿Operación qué? Bikini?

This year the text is written by Susana Torralbo. Thank you for enjoying this trip with us.

«I was doing the monkey while I waited for the lift. She would face, perform dances invented on flow, jumped like a dyslexic dancer… I owed my audience, which was basically composed of two people. On the one hand, my mother, who was struggling between returning into the house with a shoe or mourn the misfortune of having a psychotic daughter. And on the other hand, the neighbor of the third right, an elderly lady with super auditory powers, able to detect the right moment when someone put a foot inside the visual field of the peephole of her door. She was quiet. I did not need to see her know that I was back there, enjoying my talent. At that time, I played very often to invent her life, although the truth is that the only thing I knew is that I had always lived alone, being «always» the equivalent of 7 years, which is the period of time that I being in the world. She lavished little on neighborhood meetings and, when she came, she noted how little people liked in general and the clamor of children in particular, making a face of smelling poo all the time. She was not afraid of loneliness and did not need anyone. She had a special ability to concentrate the criticisms of the neighbors as much as my attention. That’s why I especially liked it and tried hard to execute impossible pirouettes in front of her door, drowning his voids with the flutter of my heels. I never won a round of applause, but on the day that some dancer slippers appeared at the door of my house as if by magic I immediately knew that this was the cheering of my audience. In spite of everything, I liked it too.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.

This year the text is written by Susana Torralbo. Thank you for enjoying this trip with us.

«From up there I could look at the clouds almost face to face. The noise of the world was barely a distant whisper, mute every time a bird fluttered its wings. She felt that nothing bad could happen to her, problems never fly so high. It was the perfect place. However, she knew that as soon as he got off those high heels, everything would be as before.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.

«With the first rains of autumn, Mama took the blankets, jerseys, coats, flannel sheets from the attic. In the background, clinging to an old scarf, the grandmother appeared. We missed her already.». (The original text here). Sorry, but I can’t translate correctly Susana’s words.
