I discovered this book at the School of Illustration and thanks to the Valladolid Public Library I had the pleasure of devouring it. I did not know the author, but I had seen some of his illustrations without knowing who was behind of them. Probably if you have the opportunity to have this book in your hands you will suffer a crush to it. This book is a selection of works that sleep into the sketchbooks of Shaun Tan.
Descubrí este libro en la Escuela de Ilustración y gracias a la Biblioteca Pública de Valladolid devorarlo con placer. No conocía al autor como tal, pero sí había consumido algunas de sus ilustraciones sin saber quién era el ilustrador tras ellas. Probablemente si tienes la oportunidad de tener este libro entre tus manos sufrirás un flechazo. Esta obra es en realidad una selección de trabajos que duermen en los bitácoras de Shaun Tan.

When I decided to buy it I discovered with sadness that it was not being re-edited anymore… But, luckily and I could buy one of them used. It is in perfect condition. It still smells as new! Now, I can read it, reread it and use to inspire myself.

Before I had it I was already assiduous to my logbook, now I feel what I have heard so many times, and that I did not understand as now: to lose my sketchbook would be to get rid of a bit of me, maybe the most intimate, the most vulnerable and dreamy.
Antes de tenerlo ya era asidua al cuaderno de bitácora, ahora siento eso que tantas veces he escuchado, y que no comprendía como ahora: perder mi bitácora sería desprenderme de un trocito de mí, puede que el más íntimo, el más vulnerable y soñador.
