En esta parte del mundo el invierno se acerca y, aunque me traje el sol dentro de la maleta, éste cada vez sale menos. Los días más grises, saco mi bitácora de nuestro último viaje y puedo sentir los rayos de sol sobre mi piel, y se dibuja irremediablemente una sonrisa enorme en mi cara.

In this part of the world, the winter is coming, although I brought the sun in my suitcase, we see it less and less. The grayer days, I look out on my sketchbook of my last trip and I can feel the rays of the sun on my skin, and irretrievably drawing a huge smile on my face.

Quiero que tú también puedas sentir el calor, y dibujes una conrisa en tu lunes, prepárate algo calentito y ¡nos vamos a la playa!

Tras conseguir aguantar trabajando los meses de julio y agosto en Madrid, llegaron las ansiadas vacaciones. Una semana en el Cabo de Gata (Almería). Por fin después de muchos años cumplimos la promesa que nos hicimos de volver a Las Negras. Cada mañana el desayuno tenía azucarillos filosóficos, para alimentar cuerpo y mente.

After we have survived to work the months of July and August in Madrid, the longed for holidays arrived: one week in Cabo de Gata (Almeria). Finally, after many years we fulfilled the promise, we returning to Las Negras. Every morning the breakfast had a philosophical sugar, to feed body and mind.

Las Negras es un pueblo pequeñito, y La Aurora se convirtió en nuestro segundo hogar durante estos días. Empatizamos con el personal y tienen los mejores cafés de las Negras. Los creps mejor para compartir que tienen tamaño suficiente para saciar a un mamut, y están deliciosos.

Las Negras is a small town, and La Aurora became our second home during these days. We empathize with the staff who feed us a lot, and also they have the best coffees of the town. They had the best crepes to share because that are large enough to satisfy mammoth, are delicious.

La pizzería El Capricho es de las más ricas que probamos (también de raciones de tamaño generoso) y la única donde encontramos cerveza Peroni.

The Pizzeria El Capricho is one of the richest odds (also have big dishes) and the only one where we found Peroni beer.

Pensar en este viaje es pensar en el Uno, un juego de cartas que nos acmpañó a pie de mar. Las cartas aún conservan olor a sal, descanso y risas. Hasta inventamos alguna nueva regla de juego.

Think about this journey is to think of the Uno playing cards. We play hard at beach. The cards still smell of salt, relax and laughter. We even invented some new game rules.

Hace un par de años, cuando trabajaba como camarera en un restaurante de playa, mi tío en una conversación telefónica me hizo darme cuenta que la gente de vacaciones casi no tiene preocupaciones. Era cierto, me fijaba y todos los clientes se tomaban mucho mejor los posibles inconvenientes, nadie te contaba problemas, todo era positivo, y eso me encantaba. El poso que dejó todo esto es la posibilidad que tenemos de cambiar el foco, por supuesto que a todos se nos tuercen las cosas de vez en cuando, pero siempre habrá un lugar donde concentrar tu atención y que te haga sentir un poco más feliz. El caso es que una noche las cosas no fueron como habíamos idealizado en nuestros recuerdos con la cena pero ahora recuerdo mucho más intensamente la amabilidad de esa persona que antes de fumar mientras cenábamos nos preguntó si nos molestaba, el paseo de después, la playa y el gelato, y esa es otra, pocas cosas hay que no arregle un buen helado. Por eso esta doble página para mi, es muy especial.

A couple of years ago, when I was working as a waitress in a beach restaurant, my uncle in a telephone conversation made me realize that holiday people are quite happy. It was true, I noticed that all the customers took much better the possible inconveniences, nobody told about problems, everything was positive, and I loved that. Then I learn that we always have the possibility to change the focus, of course, everyone has bad things sometimes, but you will always have a place to focus their attention and make you feel a little happier. The fact is that one night, things were not as we had idealized in our memories with dinner but now I remember more intensely the friendliness of the person who asks for permission before smoking while we are dinner, the walk with J, the beach, and the gelato. I think there are only a few things that a good gelato can’t fix. That’s why these a double page is very special for me.

Uno de los días necesitamos una farmacia, en Las Negras no hay, Ricardo el taxista del pueblo nos llevó y nos regaló un par de sitios buenísimos para comer en la zona.

One of the days we needed a pharmacy. Las Negras hasn’t got one, then Ricardo the taxi driver of the town carry us to find one. In the road, he recommended us some good places to eat in Las Negras.

El Toresano fue uno de esos lugares recomendados (junto con El Capricho, del que te hablé antes). Las tapas del Toresano están para chuparse los dedos literalmente, escribo esto y puedo s aborear esa gamba de Garrucha mmmm

El Toresano was one of those recommended places (along with El Capricho, of which I spoke to you before). The tapas of these place are delicious, I write this and I can taste this Garrucha shrimp mmmm.

Este inventario de recuerdos no estaría completo sin la piscina y las lecturas en la hamaca. Puedes imaginar que mis recuerdos de este lugar se acercan al paraíso, ya te lo decía aquí.
